The scenery is OK but the road system doesn’t look American at all to me. Just old school SCS.
I find the German motorways in ProMods to look more American than those in ATS.
You would be surprised at the number of single lane roads in the United States. They are far more numerous than you think. You see, we have a
L O T of land in the United States.
There are 3,980,817 miles (6,406,504 km) of roads in the United States, 2,605,331 miles (4,192,874 km) paved and 1,375,486 miles (2,213,630 km) unpaved.
Look at this table and see how the various types of roads break down as of 2013, which is the latest official data. Not that much has changed in only two years! The four main numbers I draw your attention to are the
bolded total lane-miles for Urban and Rural roads, and the number of lane-miles for Local roads in both aforementioned categories.

Looking at the numbers, it is clear that in Urban areas, "Local" (meaning two-lane) roads are roughly one-half of the total. In Rural areas, "Local" are roughly two-thirds of the total!
I haven't lived or driven in Europe for nearly forty years, but I have driven in every State in the U.S. except for Hawaii and Alaska for nearly forty years. I should think that I am a far better judge of what U.S. roads and scenery look like from a first-hand and current view.
I certainly wouldn't presume to judge how accurate ETS2 compares to present day Europe!
