Re: Development on version 1.x (Current Map Improvements)
Personally, I find it rather patronizing, not to mention irritating... Maybe because you're a native speaker and I am not. It's not meant to be patronizing. EDIT: I have softened the language a bit and put some not-meant-to-be-irritating headings in place. It wasn't harsh before, though. I c...

Re: Development on version 1.x (Current Map Improvements)
I think it's really needed to have a project like the ARP and I must say that I like much of the screenshots shown already. The landscape resembles that of Northern Germany quite well and I think it's great to see signs like "Kreuz Rendsburg" in game; those add a lot of realism. You've don...

Re: Development on version 1.x (Iceland edition)
The bridge really isn't that special. :P But even for footbridges there's very limited models available. And I want to avoid using the same bridge over and over again and add some variation. Actually I think it is quite recognisable. Even more for the fact that it has appeared on the blog. I doubt ...

Re: Development on version 1.x (Iceland edition)
- Monuments, like the one I use as Keflavík. There's no Iceland-specific model for the real monument at Keflavík. Which means I either have to re-use another model as a resemblance, or have no monument at all. Yeah, and that's my point: It's better to use no model at all than to put a landmark at a...

Re: Development on version 1.x (Iceland edition)
Now I see that Plykkegard came up with the same idea before I posted it. Nice
Alright, that's enough of a proof.Actually, yes, it does have the need for a 2v2 road, as demonstrated by this streetview.

Re: Development on version 1.x (Iceland edition)
Iceland is getting shape! I think, it looks quite good already, still I have some feedback for you. I hope it's useful. - The most important note: Don't reuse unique models. I have seen that on some pictures you have shown and I think it's not a good idea. It doesn't add local atmosphere to the sett...

Re: Development on version 1.x (Current Map Improvements)
I'm very impressed by Mandelsoft's detail knowledge on signage. I did not know that the signs in Hesse are so different from the rest of Germany. I think that authentic signage contributes quite a lot to local scenery so it's nice that there's an expert aboard.

Maybe someone should post a sticky topic about that and a sticky topic that 1.6 is released. Not just a short message on the forums.
