That way distances would be twice as big, and the area would 4 times bigger... and production time and money as well. And also, there would be gameplay issues.

I had that problem many time ago and I ended taking a cargo bound to Angers in order to get it discovered. It also happened to me with Zurich? But it's interesting to know that other way of solving it.

I don't think the AI works like that. I think it just generates traffic in the area surrounding the player (let's say 2km in game - 40km real life). About crossings and congestion, I just think that's caused by the differences of behaviour with reality and bad design crossings. IA cars take less ris...

I don't think there is that much difference between making a highway and a normal road, as the level of detail around it is the same in this mod. Anyway, developers usually say that the really time consuming task are cities.
