I have the exact same problem. Mine is fine without 1.6 in, put it in and it refuses to do the Road network navigation caching started part. Then it crashes.

Yeah I thought that, but satan has tested on 1.8 and 1.9 so it's a bit weird?

Hey guys, all was fine and dandy until 1.9 and 1.6 Promods came along. So I patched, removed 1.5 and put in 1.6, and my game doesn't load past profile screen. I select my profile, then it loads nearly all the way and crashes.

Any ideas? Log below.
