If you want to use a custom homedir, create a shortcut of the TruckersMP client and add it to the launch options.
Alternatively, you can create a .bat file (instead of creating the shortcut) that will execute the launcher including all custom launch options.

The Mod Manager is disabled in the TruckersMP client.
Therefore, if you open it, you will see that all your modifications are disabled/incompatible.
However, if you can join the server, it means that ProMods can be loaded.

The file can be found in the Euro Truck Simulator 2 folder (which is usually located in the Documents).

This issue does not seem to be connected with the TruckersMP client.

Try to extract the files once again. If it does not work, download them from this website.
The server does not let you join if there is a corruption in any of the modification files despite the fact the mod is working for you.
