Yes, that photo captures exactly the issues. I was on a rush delivery at the time and missed catching them prior to being directly alongside the gaps in the scenery. I'll try to be better about getting screenshots in the future.

The barrier across the road can be driven around both ends. Also, the road beyond should be set to not be on the map and to not be discoverable.

At the border crossing between Hungary and Romania, I spotted this as I picked a parking spot for my rest break.

On my way out of London on the road heading south, I came across an intersection with no traffic lights.
