I have crossed the Pas de la casa/l'hospitalet près l'andorre border a few times and I have NEVER seen a french officer :P

[Whereas entering spain from Sant Julià we get stopped 1/2 the times]

So ScuL, did your guns check out ok? I hope you had cleaned them before crossing the boarder. I always hated those surprise inspections. :lol:

I wasn't carrying any, they just do it because you can buy guns without a license in Andorra

@gmtavares

It's not "big" in comparison to the one in Spain. But bare in mind that the French outpost is built in a mountain so there is not a lot of space to build a big customs office.
The Spanish Guardia Civil agents working in the Spanish border are quite nice. I know a few of them, and when i get pulled over i chat with them. I have only been stopped by the French customs like 4 times in my life. I remember that the day after the Paris nightclub's shootings, the French border was stopping every car.

@ScuL

In Andorra you are required by law to keep a firearm to protect your family in case of emergency. There are people who buy just a pistol, others that like to hunt and have a few hunting riffles, some just don't have any guns because they dislike them, and other have a lot of guns.
Everytime i have bought a gun in Andorra, gun stores only ask you to give them a valid ID/Passport which they make a photocopy and send it to the police with the weapon's serial number.

Many people from Spain and France come to Andorra to buy guns (Especially hunting riffles and bullets), because they are cheaper. The big problem comes when someone buys a handgun and get's stopped at the Spanish customs. That's because in Spain to obtain a Handgun License you need to prove that your life or your family's life is at danger. That's why there are so few of them. If you get caught with a handgun at the Spanish border by the Guardia Civil, you are probably getting arrested.
