Also remember that in real life, F-roads are off limits to these trucks and all 2-wheel-drive vehicles. You have to have a 4x4 in order to legally drive on them. So strictly speaking, if it's supposed to be like real life, the F-roads shouldn't be drivable in the game... and it's quite unrealistic to have them! But then, it IS just a game ;) And they do look good.
Haha wait till you see them, maybe you'll change your mind.
We have done our research:)

Welp, looks like if I want to do any exploring I'm going to have to turn damage off then  That being said I've seen some pretty extreme creations in ETS2 and I think it's safe to say I'm prepared for anything you guys can throw at me, though you never cease to amaze :D

Looked amazing. The fuel station flags, bumpy roads, textures, models, the lot!

Now imagine us in the team chat going "No, not this route, that is the least spectacular one" :)

They will be marked as 4x4 only on gps and will not be used in navigation, so it's up to the player to decide if he want to risk driving through them :)
Cool, it's great that you can make it so that certain roads don't work with the GPS. I might still use them anyway, who knows... but definitely they look fantastic. Even Purno's original F-roads looked pretty good.

I have been to Iceland myself actually, and I know this very well... in real life it's illegal to drive on an F-road without a 4x4. Your insurance is void if you do. Even when you land at Keflavik there's this huge map on the wall by the car hire desks, showing the area where rental cars are not allowed to be driven... it covers most of the interior ;)

So in real life it's illegal... in a game though, anything's possible ;) We can all just pretend that there are no such restrictions, and enjoy it! :D

I was there too ;) I'm not 100% certain that it's illegal by law, but if you do use F-roads in 2WD car insurance does not apply and you can get into big trouble. Same with whole rescue action. I paid 600 euro for small dent on door (got all back from external insurance company).

And you can always install some 4x4 car mod and try them the legal way :)

so am I right? these F-roads aren't shown on the map or the GPS can't calculate with these roads? ;)

We still work on it and our goal is to show them on map but exclude them from calculating route.
