Hello everyone!
I am glad to announce that I recently joined the team as a mapper for an existing part of the map needing improvements!
As map quality is definitely improving in new and existing Promods areas, (such as the awesome new Denmark or Stockholm) I will make sure Norway will be given this same treatment.
So what is expected?
I will divide the project in to two parts:
-Updating and redesigning the already existing part of Norway while working my way up north
-Creating a new Northern Norway which will include new cities such as Alesund, Trondheim and perhaps above
My main focus is to add many details to the map to create a realistic impression of Norway.
First release is not planned yet and will perhaps be after 1.7, it consists of the current map improvements.
Be aware that I will be realistic in what to create and that I will take all the time I need working at a comfortable pace.
More information will ofcourse follow, but in the meanwhile please enjoy some screenshots of my first part of the project:
Updating Kristiansand and E39 direction Stavanger:
Be aware that some screens show WIP areas and more details need to be added.
More screenshots later tonight

Hello PH-AMG!
Really like your improvements so far, keep it up

Very glad to see Norway improved! Especially happy to see you working on the Stavanger region, as I several times have asked for a remake of this area. Problem with this region, is that the landscape in the current version is pretty far off.
As you probably know, the thing is that south of Stavanger E39 goes through a place called "Jæren". This region is very, very flat and a major agricultural area. Hence - it is extremely different from the rest of Norway in terms of scenery. It is actually very similar to Denmark and the Netherlands, with endless cornfields, large beaches and sand dunes.
Here are some pictures:

Hope you are able to update the map with this kind of landscape. As it is now, it is full of mountains and other strange things. Mountainous landscape on lowland Jæren is like placing palm trees on Iceland

Don't worry Norguy, it's all part of the plan
I really appreciate your detailed feedback, helps me a lot.
I actually thought the same thing with the original map, and thought the Promods team could use some help.
I will post some more detailed info later tonight together with some screens!

Agree to 100% with uk_daf_fan, looks so fantastic that there is no need for words basically *speechless*
Sounds amazing! Also, the pictures you posted looks stunning. Love the bridge and the environment around it!PH-AMG wrote:Don't worry Norguy, it's all part of the plan

If I may suggest something more - there is a coastal route on Jæren which got some really great scenery - you can see it drawn up here: http://www.nordsjovegen.com/images/kart.gif /
https://www.google.no/maps/dir/Stavange ... .53421!3e0
For a long part, this road runs along the sea, which at one point actually make it go through a beach(!) It also offers beautiful cornfields and somewhere it is surrounded by water on both sides. Orrevatnet on the one side and the sea on the other. It is actually even highlighted as a "national tourist road".
If you can't make them both and have to pick, I would choose this route over the E39. While the E39 also offer beautiful cornfields, this one additionally gives you those very special coastal parts. Should be pretty easy to make too - with totally flat agricultural landscape dominating around around 90% of the road. I guess only hard part is the beach.
Love the contrasts of this region. Its awesome driving down from the mountains, and very suddenly everything is flat and looks completely differently! Its like two different worlds! Since you make northwestern Norway too, we will get this "contrast" in the map
Let me know if you need more information, i will try to help
