If a load had to be transported to and/or from Valga, is there going to eventually be a land connection without having to go through Scandinavia?

You don't get land connection.If you have job from Poland to Estonia,the only way is to go through Scandinavia.For normal land connection needed Lithuania and Latvia.

I think promods do all this for driving, not for ferries?

And because they can't do everything in a second doesn't mean that there isn't going to be land connection in a future.. You just have to wait!

Plus, Promods will do a bit of Russia too (till St. Petersburg I think) and so you could go through there.

Current (1.9) Promods doesn't, but one day you can go through Going East DLC, Lithuania and Latvia to Valga.
I personally think, that Nico "should try to motivate himself to" do entire E67 without without cities next and then move on.

Much work that conflicts with our future plans, and Going East DLC. I've taken a look at Lithuatia and Latvia, but couldn't figure out a route that doesn't pass any cities. I did consider it. And it's a long distance, even a simple road would take time to make.

Small correction, the E67 runs from Olsztyn to Tallinn. The road from Riga to Valka/Valga is at first the A2/E77 to Murjani, and then the A3/E264 to Valka.
