Development on version 2.x (Southern Scandinavia)
Agreed, the tunnels in continental Europe especially (some of the older-style tunnels in Swtizerland especially) are far too bright. The ones in Norway and Iceland are a tad more realistic, but still a little too bright for my tastes. Near total darkness would be cool in some of these since in most cases this is what you actually get.

What I miss the most it that one second where you can't see anything when leaving the tunnel.

In Norway the tunnels are near dark in the middle of the tunnels, but must tunnels on primary roads have yellow lights on each opening.
That`s how realisc our tunnels has to be.

Heck, even the Netherlands has tunnels, despite the fact that the country is as flat as a pancake. Most tunnels here cross waterways that allow sea or sailing ships, relieving the height restriction for ships and therefore the need of either a really tall bridge or a drawbridge (which can slow down traffic a lot on motorways).

Well, we are the opposite. We need tunnels, but they get tunneled before the mountain has been tunneled.
