Lots of hitching/skipping/lag in ETS2 with promods 2.20

Hi all. Love the new content in 2.20. However something very strange has been happening since i started using 2.20. I run the game ALWAYS with the 64 bit client because of the number of mods I have as well as having a 64 bit OS.

I have a lot of lag/hitching/skipping while driving around with the mods enabled. I have a really powerful machine with a pair of geforce gtx 980 graphics cards (although I only use one with the game because SLI has known issues with ETS2). The rig has 16 GB of memory which should be more than sufficient, and I am running Windows 10 64 bit edition with the latest windows updates installed.

I am not sure what is causing the hitching and skipping, but the constant "Nothing to activate" messages in game.log may be the reason why. Some help would be appreciated.

"Rusmap fix from 23.6.2017 (is this still needed?)". This is still not needed because the fix is inside Rusmap 1.7.4.

What about your CPU? Is it also powerful?

Is your hard drive HDD or SSD?

Does it lag like literally all the time while driving, or it only lags when you try to enter a city, or a busy, complex road?

Usually this happens when you have a lot of mods, esp. the Jazzycat ones. Whenever you enter a new city ETS2 tends to load the next part of the map, the models, texture, some more, and together with the AI mods you have. Even the best machines can still lag, and that's kind of common in simulator games with many mods.

His CPU and GPU are just fine and I don't think a HDD of SSD is causing the lag. Can you try it with only ProMods and RusMap enabled and see if you still experience lag?

I can try. I did not have lag with the prior version of promods, so it may be a 2.20 issue.

I can undertsand what he did mean about that,because when i was using the 2.20 beta with 1.28 my game had no problems,but now with 2.2 and 1.28 it will do the same thing too,even if all my mods are updated to the latest versions.
My 2.20 beta with my test profile is okay and my normal profile with 2.2 is bad some times when i use it.

Hi all !

A bit different for me : stuttering during autosaves and random crashes with screen freezing : no clue in log and no interruption message when restarting the game.
Everything went well with the beta but not with the latest release.
I created a new profile and no prob so far.
Maybe replacing beta files with the new ones was the cause of the issue.
