Hi guys,

I am not going to lie, I think that my ETS takes stupidly long time to load. Regularly, a couple of minutes at least. It gets stuck on "MAP" it gets stuck on a hidieously long list of "obsolete objects". Is there a way to "speed the process up" or is it quite normal that the loading times are so long.

I am running the game off HDD, but that shouldn´t make too much difference should it?

Hi,

that is quite normal. Just ProMods is adding a few Gigabyte of data to the game, therefore it takes a few minutes to load.

Replacing the HDD with a SSD will give you a better perfomance and shorter loading time, because with a SSD it can load the Data faster from the SSD to the RAM than from a HDD.

Best regards,

my loading time with a M2 SSD and only ProMods = ~ 20 seconds.
with normal SSD around 22 sec.

It makes a huge difference ;)
Depends on your HDD too. With an SSD, many players load this game under 1 minute with many, many GBs of mods. When using an HDD, people reported even 10-20 minutes.

Under one minute is a bit extreme for my spec but I have to say that transferring to SSD has had a dramatic decrease in loading times.
And it was so easy to transfer game data onto another HD using Steam as well.

If you use patch 1.30, your game should load very fast. ProMods loads in ~8 seconds. If you add more mods, you have to add some seconds to it.

The first time you run the game after updating a map mod, it takes about 4 or 5 minutes (at least for me, off a HDD). Every time you play after that, it loads in about 20 or 30 seconds. Then if you update the map at a later point, you'll have another one-time several minute load. I suspect on the first load after changing a map it is calculating routes between companies. Once it does this, it probably stores the data for use in future sessions. Just my guess.

Yes, that's correct. It was introduced in ATS 1.29 and ETS2 1.30 together with the new GPS system and it's called "Navigation cache".
