OMG!
For 11 days I,ve been struggling with the same problem, the game also crashed every time I crossed a border, and sometimes even going into/passing a city.
The latest event from SCS was a nightmare to complete, had to do all jobs in Italy.
I,ve tested, and retested all my mods, I even deleted a lot of them (fortunately I have a couple of backups off all my mods)
I also have a test profile, but even that crashed all the time, until I deleted all mods in it.
But then I found this topic, and now everything works perfect.
