Tried it whichever way, same errors, same results - indefinite hang at around 60% loaded

made new profile. same result, same errors.

I even tried manually to reset the economy on the profile, but i dont think the game even gets that far.

Hi,

that hanging at 60% is normal.
ETS2 is just generating the navigation cache, which look like the game "hang".
Just be patient.

Crash or Infinite loading? not the same.

If you a have crash, download def file ProMods again.

It said game crash when i tried to get back, but that could be because i killed the game after some time

Anyway following bmw's advice i let it load on the test profile and went to do something else. came back and it was loaded in :)

did the same with my usual profile and kept an eye how long it took. over 5 minutes with 0 disk activity. so you can see why i didnt think it was normal. and i do have a supercomputer of sorts.

thanks all good now. really should be a big warning that initial can take 5+ minutes even on i9. would have prevented this thread ;p

Sadly the new 2.41 crashes the game on the very beginning for me. It starts to load and then after some loading it just exists. I am on Ubuntu 19.04. The ETS2 is the latest version. :( I need to go back to 2.40 for now.

which i read. and i did wait for over a minute. at which point i figured it was just toast. no drive activity or anything. all good. i'll know to wait 5+ in the future. ive been out of ets for a long time.

Sorry my bad, i was so excited to buy and download the new version that i completely forgot to create a new def file.... On Linux btw i didn't had to wait for so long, it was like 1-2 Minutes. Fantastic Job Guys and a big thank you!!!
