Put .scs / .zip archives into your "mod" folder and activate them in Mod Manager.

Maybe you're unzipping a .zip mod file and you shouldn't do that.

Hi,
If you have a .RAR or .ZIP file, you should use the following programs to extract it:
Express Zip
WinRAR
7Zip
Once you have extracted, you should find the SCS file. The mod that you have installed should have .SCS at the end of the file.
Hope I have helped

Why don't you subscribe this mod on Steam Workshop to make it easy for you? And then this mod will update automatically, so you don't have to bother with that.

You didn't and it only creates more confusion for the OP.
This mod comes as a .zip file, which should be placed in "mod" folder, not extracted. That's exactly what I said in my first reply.

Hi,
As Voytek said, if the file does not have scs files then just copy the its rar or zip file straight to mod folder under my documents
