i just installed the mod and there is the the dff file missing. how can i get the file?

After choosing your language on the download page, click the big, bold, orange link which says "Click here to generate your def file".

You didn't read and skipped step 1.

It says there in big red letters:
The importance of this file is critical. The mod will NOT work without this file!

problem was it was missed placed on my comp i have it now but still the game crashes is it because it wasnt in when i first was setting up or do i have a diffrent problem now?

If this is your first time installing ProMods, you may have a mod conflict. Verify this by starting a new profile which only has ProMods enabled.

Do you have the 3 files? promods-def-v190.scs, promods-map-v190.scs and promods-v190.scs?
And are they roughly 712MB together?

Maybe you forgot to enable the def file in your profile... just putting it in the mod folder is not enough.
