Creating And Editing World Map

Hello,

I am in the middle of creating a small, minor design of a local area here in Australia. I am interested in how I can remove the default European cities from the World Map in the scs file. I have set the back image for it, so as in, the outline of the actual area, but whenever I zoom in, it appears to load a separate area of the map. I can't really read it very well, or understand it properly, due to the cities overlapping. So, basically, I wish to remove the cities, fix the zoom issue, and add custom cities using the map editor.
