Creating Custom Industries

I am a new and hopeful developer to the ETS2/ATS area, and I wish to make some custom industries for my potential Maritime Canada version for Promods ATS. Can somebody point me to a tutorial on how to create a custom industry? I already know how to 3D model and texture, I just need to know how to set up parking difficulties and trailer spawn points.

I'm not sure if there's a tutorial referring directly to making companies but from what I've found recently, you need to make/edit a .ppd file by a hex editor software if you want to change the spawn areas, so you'll need to find a tutorial of how to do this.

If you're using ProMods as a base, there's an invisible company prefab you can use for custom delivery point arrangements. Like any other company prefab you can only use it once per city though.

@ETS2-User can I use that prefab in my ATS mod then? I would also want to make new company prefabs instead of these already existing.

Nope, unless you create one yourself.

For creating fully custom companies you need very good 3D modelling skills. You can either use SCS Blender tools (free, but blender on a whole has a steep learning curve, and there is quite a bit of the SCS stuff to understand), or ZModeller 3 (Paid, works on a subscription basis. Prices compared to other modelling software not too bad) which has been around for longer, and is a bit easier. You will need to model the whole scene, then place locators for parking, trailer points, how it shows on the map etc.

Modelling from scratch is very time consuming, so what I am doing for my map is retexturing some of the company assets, to better reflect how they are IRL. This solution may not work quite as well for you, however the Scandinavia DLC (if you wanted to go the ETS2 route) has some stuff which could work well in your map.

Thanks for the information, but the Scandinavia DLC is for ETS2, while this is for ATS. I do possess the modeling skills to make the industry's 3D model, but I would like to know how to place parking spots and set up company names.

Thanks, just got it done. One more question: May I provide my 1: 1 map of my home for free download, if I say that you have to download ProMods on the main website legally to play my map, because I have to use some models and prefabs, because these are are very real and qualitatively high quality?
