How do I make a 1:1 map scale of my country?

Where can I download a 1:1 map? Can I import heightmaps? What's the best way to start? All of the map at the same time or county by county? Is it too much for a newcomer to map making?

Hi, About five weeks ago, I also started to create a 1: 1 map of my home region. You should know that mapping takes a lot of time. At the beginning, you should pick out a centrally located major node of roads to be able to expand your map at best. I wish you a lot of fun and above all a lot of motivation, as it can give way over time.
