Hey guys!
Okay, I'm not really into all this "getting help from others" thing, I'd like to figure out what's up by myself, but this... this is jut out of my league!
So, for some days ago I've got that idea, I thought it would be nice to make my own map in ETS2, right. I would like to get my hometown, Nibe, and place it in the virtual world of ETS2 in a 1:1 scale.
I live in Denmark, in a "small" (15.000 inhabitants) city, the city is called nibe and it's actually pretty big... You can see it here:

And I just can't figure out how to do, I simply know nothing about the map editor.
I've never really tried to make a map as a serious project or anything, so I really need help!

Map Editor Help please! :|
Hello,
I recommend you to read this useful tutorial at first
You can learn there how to set up the game so you can open the editor, place items, save the map and such.
Then, you can experiment with the editor
Unluckily, I can't help you with def folder settings..

Just a thought: I wouldn't share a picture of my hometown with my home on it

I had to fix the roof and add some "better" windows.

Have you created the base and map folders in the game directory?
Everytime you close the game you need copy your edits from this folder and repackage in a SCS mod file in order for the game to load the new stuff when you start over again
Otherwise your changes are lost
Please note: In order to rebuild your hometown you also need get into 3D modeling

Yeah, I've done as said in this tutorial, from point to point: http://promods.net/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=1326
And, all that modelling and stuff, I'll get to that later

Hmm ok, got the exact same error when I saved the first time
You will have your map in three diffent places
Source where you have def files etc, latest progress in the mod folder and current edits in the <gam>\base\map folder

The error can also occur if the game can't read some files
Check if your mod package is valid
I assume you have been able to save your edits and are restarting editing
