But that is the exact reason why I made this tutorial; it was so hard for me to learn from any of the tutorials when I started!

I am missing something here :?:

In the tutorial just before the save instruction, there is a paint.net screenshot with 3 logos but a black background.
Where does this happen? Or I should say, how do you make the black background, and why?

The truck should be black with Ikea logos. So you make a black square all across the template and put 3 Ikea logos on the right places.

Yeah, that's why I told you to make a 'Color' layer, this is where the background colour goes ;).

Great! I am making some progress working through your tutorial.

I managed to make a simple skin but for one thing - I got the template lines all over my truck. I guess you have to 'hide' the template layer before saving as a dds file?

Yeah, sorry if I didn't make that clear. Basically whatever you see when the .dds file is made will be what the skin looks like.

I have never did much research into that but it has to do with a specific colouring scheme in the dds (three rgb colours I think) which the game picks up as the three colours that can be edited.

As for metallic I really don't know. Wouldnt be suprised if both have some sort of def file controlling it.
Am I developing at the moment?
