Hello truckers,

My name is Morten van der linden, and I want to introduce myself.
I'm now trucking on the promods map from the begining with a lot of of pleasure, and it is the best europe map ever.,
I am also active in the fsx community for a couple of years, I making airport sceneries for fsx.
a time ago I made a model of the Dammer Berge bruckenrasthaus in sketchup, this is the rasthaus on the German A1, and my idea is to share it with you, in the hope that some of the developers here can convert it to ETS2, so that the model can be implented on the map.
i have an image of my work and the screenshot is below here.

I hope that the developers here can use the the model for the Promods map.

regards

Morten

The problem is that SketchUp is not suitable for game modding - you can make quite a nice model but it's too heavy (not optimized) for ETS2.
The best tools for ETS2 modelling are Blender + SCS Blender Tools (free) and ZModeler (paid).

As Zniwek said Sketchup models get high Triangle Count values. For example 5000 triangle for specific structural models and 3000 for regular models are preferred.

it's for sure that I enjoy the map mod, so much realism I like the good work the developers do, I'm trucking this map from the beginning vsion 1.0 up to the current version 2.15 now, and it is a real enjoyment to see the build up from the beginning to now and in the future.
is it possible to import this model into blender, and is it difficult to do that, because I have no experience with blender?
I heard that it is possible to import sketchup models into blender, and than export it to ets2?.

Possible, but as we said TC value will be so high that some players can't even play.

Oke thanks for the info elitegamer0611, unfortunately I'm not familair with blender, it's to complicated for me, so I am afraid that this model not can be used for the map than.
until someone can do that with knowledge of blender.

The problem is that Sketchup models are not suitable for any game. Sketchup doesn't care about polygon-efficient modeling... or proper UV-mapping for the textures. The way Sketchup builds a model is vastly different from any other modeling tool. Just a conversion tool won't do the job well if the model itself is fundamentally wrong under the hood. I'd recommend to teach yourself other modeling tools instead. Blender may have a steep learning curve, but it is better fit for the job.

Thanks for the answer,
very sad that sketchup is not suitable for ets2, because sketchup is so easy in use and learning.
I will take a look for tutorials about blender, but I'm afraid that it is to hard to learn for me.
