Dear ScuL, pardon me for digging up this topic, but are you Martijn? Because I saw a picture with Nico when these guys visited SCS Software studio in Prague, and I'm just curious, is it you as Martijn ;)

Hi scul,

I just read your introduction here and so read that you also like making music and being a DJ.
What kind of music is your's?

I am liking a big bunch of different music, but liking techno and trance a lot. And a favorite to me is Armin van Buuren. Just saw his 20th anniversary the best of Armin only and it was stunning, absolutely great.... What do you think of him?

Yes unfortunately I don't get enough time to produce any music any more, and to be honest the industry has changed so much that my techniques may be a little bit outdated.
I have been involved with virtually every genre of electronic music over the years but most recently mostly trance and a mix of other genres.
Armin has achieve legendary status within the industry and he used to be very good but I think his latest performances have lost the spark. I actually chatted to him once, around 2001 or 2002 when he wasn't the superstar he is today :)

Trance is one of my favourite music genres too, however I generally prefer trance made before 2012 to trance made after it. I think that after 2012 the sounds became more mainstream in general. This can be seen when comparing Armin's older trance tracks to his newer ones, many of which don't even follow the musical structure of trance and sound more like EDM songs. :)
