It was big mistake to connect the game to real places, real regions. They got tied up by "this city should be here, that river must be there" thing... Rig'n'Roll 2 as an opposite example of game about truck driving, though not quite exactaly the same of course. The main thing is not real Land, some huge region that doesn't exist in reality. You can assemble it as you want, like LEGO: wanna get desert behind the corner - got it, off-road - any time... As an idea of game where Road is most important thing, it's very yummy I guess.

Well, with the very small scale you can miss some not important roads, or town, or rivers or landmarks - It is alright that ATS is based on realistic places - it is very fun to drive on RL roads in America, but just in the game... The game itself can be your creative box - You can do the realistic American map, or just fantasy map which sustains your needs :P

IMO ProMods should stick to Europe because we have different conceptions than USA and SCS is doing a very good job mapping there , i was really surprised ;)

@Mandelsoft I feel your pain. I have taken noticed to that too about the dutch motorways. Glad you guys are rebuilding those areas.

I am slowly learning the editor. This is going to take time as my intentions is to build with quality. Once I feel confident with my work I will be posting my ATS edits in the Academy. I can't make any promises how this is going to work out but I would like to attempt this as I care very much about detail and realism. My first plan is to edit the Nevada interstates. I am not sure how long this will take me. This could take me weeks or maybe months. Who knows. To start, I'm looking to replace the Primm intersection with a diamond interchange as it in real life. I have been to the Outlet Mall in Primm many times in my life and I just shake my head when I first saw the at grade intersection in ATS. Up in Reno I would like to replace the I80 and I580 interchange and get rid of the lights and diamond interchange as this is not correct.

If/when ProMods America happens, would the map be rebuilt and expanded in the current 1:35-ish scale, or rebuilt in the same 1:19 scale as Europe? Though I imagine it's still too early to be deciding these things just yet.
