Now that the release date of ATS has been announced, I think it's time we talk about that game :D Anyone want to toss ideas about the game and see what sticks, as well as other things?

Looking at the trailer, I am highly disappointed and might not even bother buying it until it is rebuilt by a ProMods like team of ATS developers.

Moved the posts, this is the appropriate topic to talk about ATS.

Some say, I'm addicted to ETS2. But then I say. No, it's ProMods, it's a way of life.

Any guesses to where ProMods will expand first in American Truck Simulator?

SCS plans "to cover all of North America eventually" so this will be interesting where ProMods decides to map first. Will they go down to South America or will they race SCS to cover North America?

I'm also guessing someone will attempt to connect the ATS and ETS2 maps together so you can "play ETS2" in ATS.

Hopefully I can help improve the area around where I live :) looking at videos I can already see a few details I want to fix

Also the far Northern part of California seems to be ignored by scs (for now)...

And I feel like scs will map more populated areas at first to make more money from people who live there. So the first connection to the east coast would probably be Arizona through Texas and continue to the Atlantic coast.

Anyways I think the "promods" for ATS would be better off doing "rebuilding projects" rather than adding new states.

The map looks a bit small
My map combo: Promods + Middle-East Add-On + RusMap + Southern Region + Volga Map + The Great Steppe + Emden ProMods Addon + Paris Rebuild + Macedonia Rework

I just looked at the map... "Santa Clara county" should be renamed to "San Jose"

Regarding los Angeles, I think we should remove those small cities like "Carlsbad" and rebuild Los Angeles to cover a much larger area allowing us to have more highways there

I agree, Los Angeles is a sprawling concrete landscape of traffic  In all honesty though, look at this:
https://www.google.com/maps/place/Sherm ... 3f8071ff16
That's a lot of road! Moreso than any European locations. It seems like SCS took the "European approach" to this city, whereas this city and subsequent surrounding Metropolis need a bit of a different approach. That being said, however, Los Angeles is more like the Ruhr valley, several cities all in one place. I think honestly SCS would have done better to take that approach as opposed to this one. I'll still play, but I think that it should definitely be fixed a bit. As long as it's not as big of a disappointment as the UK was, we'll be okay.

Don't rush pre-ordering it, I have a feeling they'll release states just like they release locos and maps in Train Simulator.. Oh wait, I mean DLC Simulator.
