Workshop mods are packed differently, if you extract a Workshop mod you will have a folder structure that is a bit different than that of a traditional mod and that's why I guess it didn't work for you.
A traditional mod is usually a zip file which contains the following files (or some of them):
  • def (folder)
  • automat (folder)
  • vehicle (folder)
  • material (folder)
  • manifest.sii
  • description.txt
  • mod_icon.jpg
A Workshop mod on the other hand contains only a versions.sii and some folders or zip files within its root folder.
These folders or zip files within the Workshop mod should have their contents similar to a traditional mod which means you should pack those as a ZIP and place that in your mod folder for it to work.
Here is an example of my Real Eaton Fuller Transmissions mod's file structure from Steam Workshop:
  • legacy (zip file)
    • def (folder)
    • material (folder)
    • manifest.sii
    • mod_description.txt
    • mod_icon.jpg
  • universal (zip file)
    • def (folder)
    • material (folder)
    • manifest.sii
    • mod_description.txt
    • mod_icon.jpg
  • versions.sii
I hope that explains it a bit. ;)

Thank you very much @ everyone. I got it working now, although I have to test if there are some issues but so far it looks good. Now all mods are local, for the time being. ;)

On SCS forum I was actually suggested (after with packed up didnt work as intended for me) to just put in the folder with the folder-structure of the original mod. And that seems to work as well. ;)

Cheers & a nice weekend to everyone here.

The only "Steam Workshop" Mod i couldnt make work with copying it to the regular Mod folder, was "Hemli's Advisor (SiSl's Edit)". It always crashes my Game when thats in there. I put it at the same location in the Mod list like i had before, while i was still using it as Steam mod. It always crashs the game now. Thats too bad.

Perhaps post your game.log from right after the crash?

Go to options, gameplay uncheck "Traffic offense" box. No more fines.

So happy I found this. Steam updated my game automatic to 1.27 (thanks, but no thanks Steam) .
I now got it back to 1.26 :D .
It's now threatening me with a automatic update again. How do I preventie this. I'm no computer/steam expert.
I'm only an expert at driving trucks in real life

Steam -> Library -> Right-click on ETS2 -> Properties -> BETA tab -> temporary_1_26 for incompatible mods
and just wait on that version until all mods are updated to 1.27

That's what I've done. So with that done it won't update automatically again.

Exactly. Same goes for any other update.
