There is a way to make Promods 2.17 compatible with ETS beta version 1.28.
Open all the Promods.SCS files with wordpad.
Change then where is standing the line compatible version 1.27 in 1.28.
I found this line in Promods-Map-2.17.
compatible_versions[]: "1.27.*" # Mod is compatible with 1.27.X..
You need to have winrar to do this.
I changed it and it works fine for me
compatible_versions[]: "1.28.*" # Mod is compatible with 1.28.X..

PM 2.17 crashes in game 1.28, so don't waste your time with it, since flare and bug fixes need another version and it's PM 2.18. Just wait a little.

Just installed ProMods 2.17 by itself no other mdos installed just that. When i go into Mod Manager all the promods are there but have "Incompatible" next to them and i can't enable them? Help

Click that "i" (info) icon next to an incompatible mod and you'll get the answer.

Or perhaps Promods team won't waste time on making an update specifically compatible with ets 1.28 (hypotetical promods 2.18), but instead keep debugging promods 2.2, which will be the ultimate edition, compatible with EVERY update scs can make until then.

ScuL already mentioned that there will be a 2.18 version - I do not think they need much time to make the 2.17 version compatible for 1.28.
