Ok so I have done the best i can to figure this one out on my own, but alas nothing helps, I can load the game to the Profile Selector and once I enable the mod and try to play the game it will crash during the First loading screen.

I have tried this with a few different profiles (some never have been modded) I even re downloaded all three files, and still same result. I am running V1.14 right now, Any Ideas or Tips? I really would love to explore the Pro Mod world

Did you follow all steps of this tutorial carefully?
http://www.promods.net/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=3852

You have to place all 3 files in your mod folder and enable all 3 in your profile:
* promods-def-v181.scs
* promods-map-v181.scs
* promods-v181.scs

If it crashes, try it with ONLY ProMods enabled and send us the content of your game.log.txt file.

Yes I have Followed every install instructions for this mod to the T, but still nothing.

My issue is this I think, My DEF file comes as a Folder and not an SCS file with a lot of SII files inside of it. What am i doing wrong? Why is my Def generating a folder and not a file? I cant select the file folder in the in game mod menu.

So I only have two pro mod SCS files, the promod1.18 .scs file and the map.scs.

I have tried changing the setting before i generate the DEF file and every time i get a folder and not an SCS file. Help?

Code: Select all

So then, try to archive the def folder. Right click on the def folder ->add to archive -> select the .zip option in WinRAR, rename the file (which at this point should look like def.zip) to something like promods-def-v181.scs -> choose the 'store' method of archiving -> click OK to confirm but before that make sure you've given the following path: C:\Users\Name-of-your-account\Documents\Euro Truck Simulator 2\mod as a destination where the file will be created or at least take your time to check out where the .scs archive will be created by default (copy/paste to the mod folder will be needed in this case).

NOTE: DO NOT use any other dots in the name apart for the one just before the file extention. It is important to use EXACTLY the the steps described above. Note also that I've never faced this trouble before and I have no clue what you've done wrong - I got the def file as promods-def-v181.scs

Let me know if this worked for you here or by PM.
Two things about ETS2 I hate - you can never hit F10 or the brakes fast enough.

The def file should always be an .scs archive not an extracted folder
