Apologies if this is in the wrong place.
I have just applied the 1.9 SCS update patch, and added the three files for the ProMods v1.6. As suggested, I removed the three files associated with ProMods v1.5 from the mod folder.
On start-up, my saves have a warning, that the game is missing mod/s, v1.5 and if I start, it may be broken. Which it is, it crashes to the desktop. I've been forced to create a new profile, which is not good as I had six garages and twenty-eight trucks. Is there some way I can restore my business to its former glory? TIA.

If you have gamepad support selected under betas for ets2, it Might help turning it off, that worked for me atleast
You have to make some steps to make it work without troubles.
First you disable promods 1.5 after this you start ETS2 and start your save game, so now ETS2 recognized you drive without promods, now you can save your game.
Close ETS2 and delete the old files of promods, after that you go update ETS2 with the new patch and start up ETS2 and play for a little while.
Now you closing ETS2 and place the new files in the mod directory, now you start ETS2 and enable promods and you can play with your old save game.
Because you have install the new install play it first without mod and maps, save your game and enable the promods files and play your game

What you can do is disable all mods incl promods and try to start you save game, if it will start play for a while and after you play around you can enable promods and try again.
No you can't roll back the game but maybe you can download somewhere v1.8.2.5, try gamershell to download this version.

3. enable the promods v1.6 files
and no idea how to downgade... steam/non steam I guess a reinstall. But why does it crash is a better question
