ok so i have a gtx 970 strix , i7 6700k and 16gb or ram which option should i choose for the def file average, high or ultra?

Even with the most powerful rigs I recommend using the high option (using that myself with a GTX1080OC and an i7-6700K 32GB DDR4 @3000MHz). ;)
