Hi, ProMods team,
I wasn't sure whether to send PMs or start a question thread, but here goes.
I've developed a couple of linguistic mods, which make non-Latin place names all over several maps conform to the ProMods convention of using native names in their respective native scripts, with non-Latin names anglicized/transcribed within parentheses (e.g. like ProMods has "Зеленоградск (Zelenogradsk)", RusMap gets "Выборг (Vyborg)" etc). One mod variant employs native short names in their respective native scripts, like ProMods out-of-the-box, and the other variant employs anglicized/transcribed short names, for easier perusal of e.g. the job list if one isn't familiar with e.g. Cyrillic.
So far I have developed and kept these as private mods. Would it be okay for the ProMods team, with regards to ProMods, if I published them? I would be grateful and I would of course give due attribution in the mod descriptions.
As an aside, I have received permission from SimKA, Aldimator, and Grega/Project Balkans team separately at an earlier stage.
(Edit: If this is an inappropriate modus operandi for requesting permission, please let me know with a reply or a PM.)
Question for the team: non-Latin place name mods

I don't see why you need permission because all the ProMods names are already following this standard? It seems to me like you are merely modifying RusMap etc.

This is, in actual practice, true of the first variant of the mod. The second variant, however, also modifies ProMods city data (since it replaces the short names with anglicized ones).

Well, you don't need permission to modify our files.
I made a Polish city names mod, that changes all city names to Polish exonyms, and I never asked for permission. You can modify our def archive / map archive in any way you want and share it as an addon.
People using your mod will need to download ProMods too. So, you can't redistribute ProMods files on your own.
