Does anyone notice that ETS2 types of local roads are to wide? Lanes are huge and its kind a boring driving on the local ways.
I think there is no lane more narrow than 3.7-4.0m.

Common local roads could be just 5m wide. Thus just one lane is abt 2.3 - 2.5m wide.
There is not much that promods team can do. but why SCS didnt make any other kind of the local paths?

I do have been on this road DK22 from Gdańsk to Malbork because we looked on this Malbork Castle Museum / Muzeum Zamkowe w Malborku, but it was in April 2014.
Sorry it was something off topic to this, but still something relevant. Yes, it was wide road. Difficult when you had to hear all stones in this long road makes ear to feel please stop this.
This mod is so awesome :D

If roads would be 5m wide, there would be lots of mirrorless trucks or those that tries to dodge in last second would be bottom of ditch until everybody realizes this and every truck must slow down to 1-5kph and pull mirrors to side of truck when other trucks pass. Also edge of road is soft and road should be wide that trucks don't need to drive on edge and be safe. This is reason why extra heavy transports drives middle of the road and others need to wait further.

Edit just look pic with Man truck how narrow road edge sinks because that road needs badly to rebuild wider for modern traffic amounts and weights.

@metpei
Well thats quite wierd thinking.
why does promods team makes bumpy roads, and road holes then? all the roads should be flat, right?

promods is supposed to simulate state as it is, not as it meant to be.

Just accept the fact that ets2 road are too damn wide :)

Just facts. When old country roads was built they weren't suppose to take modern big loads and modern traffic amounts, also trucks wasn't 2,5m wide even with mirrors!
Take look your pics how wide mirrors comes from those 2,45-2,49m wide trucks, they aren't invisible you know. 6m wide road (3+3) is pretty damn narrow when comes corners.

PM team aren't suppose to do anything. They do as they can and want, it's free mod by the way, have little respect?

Edit: if ETS2 has too wide roads, don't even try ATS ;)

Edit2: I should add that game is very limited and has many things that can't be fixed (yet?). Like in 10 lane (5+5) freeway AI disappear on edge lanes as game engine don't support it.
In narrow roads AI trucks would crash always.
I do love narrow road too like you drive to Sagtree (or similar) in Slovakia and Finland. You will wind narrow roads mostly on edge of PM map, but you won't see much AI there. I was used to this and driving recless in narrow roads, once I got scared when bus comes to me in corner from behind a bush. I had to drive to woods to avoid collide. That was great after my heart rate returned close to normal.

When talking about road width one also has to factor in the shoulders (if any) and the central area / lines (if any). Generally a lane is at least 2.6 meters wide on a road that has a painted central line.

In Finland a 5 meter wide road or narrower would be a dirt road where even two passenger cars have trouble to pass each other.
Example (approx. 4 meters wide)
https://www.google.fi/maps/@60.4270805, ... 6656?hl=fi

Narrowest "standard" paved roads can be as narrow as 6 meters but not really any narrower. And these roads are very narrow to drive on. A truck can barely fit on its lane.
Example (without central lines, approx. 6 meters wide):
https://www.google.fi/maps/@60.4892259, ... 6656?hl=fi

Example (with central lines, approx 6 to 6.5 meters wide):
https://www.google.fi/maps/@60.5128693, ... 6656?hl=fi

This road is a pretty standard local road and it is 6.5 to 7 meters wide:
https://www.google.fi/maps/@60.5051076, ... 6656?hl=fi

And finally here is a motorway for comparison (lane width approx. 3.5 meters):
https://www.google.fi/maps/@60.3134842, ... 6656?hl=fi

Of course standards vary from country to country. ;)

Their fine. In real life (I am Latvia) we don't have many big motorways/dual carriage ways. mostly there's simple A road's with 1 direction lane each way :)
There are narrow roads too which are dirt roads into the forest.

I wish I was in in Promods team who build in Latvia :D
