Can you not put these in a separate file and release as a paid add-on? You will have developers dedicated to exceptional cargo routes that way.ScUL wrote:So if we need to make 20 routes you can imagine how much time that takes.
We don't have the developers free for that ( as a matter a fact, we don't have enough developers full stop ). Secondly it's illegal to charge money for mods

ST in Iceland would be absolutely amazing. I would envy anyone who uses a wheel and a shifter doing that route. Not that I don't already wish I had a proper setup already. My xbox controller and sequential gears just doesn't quite give the full experience though.ScuL wrote: ↑16 Dec 2017 03:24We can create our own routes, but creating one route is quite time intensive. I would say it takes about 48 to 72 hours of work to create one single route.fowlplayuk wrote: ↑15 Dec 2017 17:13Hi ScuL
Thanks for the reply. That sounds like you're making quite good progress then considering the amount of work it must take. Colour me impressed. I've read somewhere that full compatibility may not be possible as Promods changes the parts of the map where these jobs take place. You guys have any plans to correct that or is that just not possible?
So if we need to make 20 routes you can imagine how much time that takes.
We would quite like to implement some ST routes on Iceland for obvious reasons.
Rather than me questioning what you can add, I was more interested in what you can incorporate from the original DLC. If I understand correctly, I am lead to believe that Promods has edited some roads that are used in the DLC. This is part of the compatibility issue if I am correct?
If so, I would assume that some of the routes made by SCS in the ST DLC are impossible in Promods because the routes no longer exist? That would mean those roads would need to be reinstated for them to be available I would assume.
This is all assumptions and guess work from me though. Hence me creating this thread to get confirmation from the experts

There is at least one Special transport job that is in Norway, but we can hope that the Pm team can add a nice Special transport job to Finland some day too, because we have so many nice roads for that in the Pm map.Rocket455Man wrote: ↑15 Dec 2017 18:39Hi!
Is there coming special transport in Scandinavia & Finland?
I hope so because I drive there mainly.

I have some questions on this "special transport" implementation :
- How are they implemented ? Is it just entirely something that's defined with the map "ie. add this special cargo, there to thence" or is there anything added to the map (like objects etc.) ?
- How does ProMods aim to route them : mirroring the base DLC or would there be some "improvements"? I know ProMods are released at least around once a year, would there be any chance that their pattern would change every yearly or 6-monthly release or something ? Most major projects requiring such big things at long distances are run at around the same timescale, so I think it'd be somewhat more realistic, in lieu of an actual sensible randomizer.

As for the implementation of the routes for the ST cargoes, there are lots of extra items that need to be added to the map for them to work properly, such as the trajectory paths for the AI escort vans at curves/intersections.
Some of the routes, such as the one from Luxembourg, are not completable until ProMods adjusts the routes for them due map changes that ProMods has made.

I too have looked at this on the Vanilla map, to see if the info can be transferred. Short answer - no it can't!! There's an awful lot of info elated to the ST routes on the map, and I haven't spotted it all by any means ...
Guess we're gonna need some serious patience on this one ...

Unfortunately, ain't nothin' but the truth, folks. PM needs some serious and dedicated time and effort on making STDLC compatible with PM, given that, as somebody previously said, there isn't much left from the vanilla map on PM, so PM will have to carefully analyze, adjust and shape manually every route made by SCS to fix it in order to work with PM. Also, as PM team has showed on every major update, they'll surprise us for sure on this matter, and I'm sure as hell they'll do a DAMN great job on it! hopefully, they'll add some new awesome routes for the STDLC... Sounds promising ain't it? but, feets-on-ground again, we'll have to wait until it's done.. like they say: It's ready when it's ready!Spooky wrote: ↑17 Dec 2017 19:50I too have looked at this on the Vanilla map, to see if the info can be transferred. PD.: Tough call between ST and PM. I'm givin' a try to STDLC and it's really awesome.. really good jobs and cargoes, and realism immersion is very good on it. As soon as I get bored with the DLC (hopefully no longer than a month ) I'll get back to PM asap!
Shiftin' gears all night long thru country roads, slick!
