A law like this is the result of the wrong people in the wrong places.

The people who decide stuff like this are people from the pre PC-gaming era. They don't even know what they're talking about.

I can't even think of an example of modding which harms the maker of the game...

GTA modding doesn't hurt Rockstar
Train Simulator modding doesn't hurt Dovetail
ETS2 modding doesn't hurt SCS.

In fact. IMO modding keeps games alive. As I said before, ETS2 would be long dead if it wasn't for the modding community.
Almost all major mods will require DLCs in the future (or already do), ProMods, TSM, Rusmap, you name it.
Which means SCS will get money from the users of those mods. We can't play ProMods without buying the necessary DLC.

Trouble is...
just for example:
IKEA, Kenworth, Eiffel Tower, Nissan, Toyota etc... can see their stuff used without permission and can hammer down on SCS.

I still don't see anything what will hurt those companies or buildings.. IMO it still is free publicity..

I am interested how EU can process SCS in the worst case.

It is still free publicity for the owner of different brands, but some companies still wish to have some money from that, but not all of them because the rest of the companies can understand, that free advertising is a good thing for the company brand.

Quite possible that some companies do not want their stuff everywhere.
"If you want to use your stuff, you need a licence etc"

A mod to a game / simulator had a similar thing happen +10 years ago.

I hope that that The European Parliament will keep the copyright law only in the drawing board and never get it as a new law.

Train Simulator modding doesn't hurt Dovetail
TS is different, they provide minimal level of content. Dovetail rightfully point to offending user in that case.
