Hi. Whenever I make a standalone map, it doesn't work when I turn it into a mod, and then write down 'edit map ' in the console. I think the reason for this is because I haven't made the playing module, and I haven't made that because I don't know how to. =P
Please help.

ETS2 only opens maps called europe.mbd. And if you're building a standalone map you also have to adapt the def files, because otherwise the game searches for so much cities that are entered in the defs, but not on the map, which makes the game crash.

Rename your map to europe.mbd and adapt the defs. How you do that can't be explained in one short answer (at least I can't), learning by doing is still the best method imo.

Actually, that's not entirely correct, otherwise no one would be able to create standalone maps at all!

However, there are a lot of other files the modder will have to create (such as a custom cities file, etc.) without which the map can't be built at all. I am not a map maker myself, but I do know at least that much. ;)

Sorry if I do not write about - not really understand english and what you want to do

The standard map is saved in the directory 'europe' and files europe.mbd
After first save map of the default directory 'europe' and a file europe.mbd

Now, I changed name to xxxxx.mbd file and change directory name: xxxxx

Important! - now you need a edit editor_data.sii file
You need to change lines:
bcg_map_name []: "/map/europe.mbd" change to: bcg_map_name []: "/map/xxxxx.mbd"

Created new mod this all tree modified files:
map/xxxxx/xxxxx.mbd and directory xxxxx ( directory containing the sectors map)
def/editor_data.sii

Copy new mod, start game and console write command: edit xxxxx
Now, when you save the map files will be saved in the new directory and the file with a new name.

So you can make a brand new map with your new files city.xxxxx.sii , country.xxxxx.sii, model.xxxxx.sii ...etc and new map name - xxxxx.mbd
