With an Online system, it's much easier to forget to pay the toll. Manual tolling is still by far the fairest system.
Curry?! My manual doesn't have any data on curry... What's the meaning of this...?!

The problem is that the new system will use the English ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition), which because of the British DVLA's stubbornness, ANPR does not recognize European number plates (as far as I am aware)

I take offence to being called a rogue and posing a danger on British roads in that article. I do not appreciate authors with a clear anti-government agenda painting with such a wide brush.

I don't know if I've ever gotten away with a driving offense in the UK when driving my own or a hire car, but even if I did this was certainly not due to a cavalier attitude on my part (as is suggested in the article).

Sorry if the article caused you any offence... I didn't take the time to read it properly. So sorry about that. In fact, most British drivers are worse than the foreign equivalents ;).

Having read the article I now see what you mean...
The article wrote: In another twist, many foreign motorists are driving illegally with an invalid or expired driving licence.
So what? 1 in 3 UK motorists are said to be over the limit either alcohol or drug-wise (Not that there's a limit for drugs...). Also there are literally tens of thousands if not more who aren't qualified!
