I don't know if I've ever gotten away with a driving offense in the UK when driving my own or a hire car, but even if I did this was certainly not due to a cavalier attitude on my part (as is suggested in the article).

Sorry if the article caused you any offence... I didn't take the time to read it properly. So sorry about that. In fact, most British drivers are worse than the foreign equivalents .

So what? 1 in 3 UK motorists are said to be over the limit either alcohol or drug-wise (Not that there's a limit for drugs...).
