Right, I don't really know what happened, but since the lastest 1.17 PROMODS patch that was supposed to have the AI light fix integrated into it, it seems to me that the tail lights of AI cars are dim, barely visible from far away. Headlights seem fine, let's not focus on that too much but tail lights are depressingly dull. I have tried adding the fix patch, in various orders but to no effect, SO I propose a suggestion;

Let's increase the brightness of the AI vehicle's lights, in particular tail lights and sure headlights a little bit as well. It's just sucky to barely see car lights until i'm right up on them. I just like to see the twinkle of lights in the distance, so what do you say guys?!

I too would like to brighten the rear light intensity. The brake lights look good, so it wouldn't want to be too much.

Looking in the unit\hookup folder I'm not sure whether I should play with the rearl.sii or the redl.sii. Or even if I'm in the right folder!! I know how to adjust the headlights, but tail lights? Not a clue.

Agree, the rear lights are now a bit weak
I'd be too interested in tweaking the lights but which parameter : diffuse color values, range... ?

You could try just replacing the flare.dds with another, such as the one by SiSL - http://forum.scssoft.com/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=96962. Of course, that affect all lights, but it's something I use all the time :D .

Sadly (??) that's already an essential part of my kit that replaces any flare.dds I encounter so that option is closed to me.

Anything is possible for more advanced users by editing files and creating your own mods, but i'm proposing this so no-one has to worry about it themselves. It would be nice to come as part of the promods package. The more I drive in the dark the more I want bright lights!

We included the Vehicle AI Lights in 1.91 as part of the new lighting system. This was a mistake and it will be taken out in the next release.
