Compatibility issue?

I just read under the Q & A section that Euro Truck update 1.8 will not be compatible with Promods v.1.01.

Compatibility with ETS2 versions:

v1.2.x - Not compatible
v1.3.x - Not compatible
v1.4.x - Use ProMods v1.00
v1.5.x - Use ProMods v1.01
v1.6.x - Use ProMods v1.01
v1.7.x - Use ProMods v1.01
v1.8.x - To be released (not compatible with v1.01)

I'm a Steam user currently using beta version 1.7.2.2.
My question is if I should wait to update of the game until a compatible version of the Promod Map is released?
Or am I missing something?

It's your own choice. When using mods I would advise not to automatically update.. It's your call.

We will but there can always be a couple of days in between the update of the game and the update of ProMods....

So when steam updates the mod might be incompatible and causing crashes.

FYI, one of the ProMods devs (me) uses the Steam version. If there's anything wrong with the Steam version during development, I'm the first to know

I need to say something a bit quick: Patch 1.8 comes out this week, New AI development and New Physics engine are not done so the New AI Development and New Physics engine are not gonna be done till 1.9 gets released.
