We don't have an airport as such. If our Spanish neighbors kindly build an Airport for us/for them, it a nice gesture, but it's not ours. And yes, it's not far from the capital.

The only problem is that it's only a Charter jet airport. Which means that if you own a Private Jet it's all nice for you. If you are just a random young guy that want's to travel, you are going to drive or take a bus to the Airport of Barcelona and fly from there.

The Grand Canyon is over 200 miles in length and over 10 miles in width at its greatest extent. Its only 5000 feet to the bottom and is 10 degrees warmer on average at the bottom of the canyon than at the top of the rims.
It is said that if you are standing at the base of the canyon and a thunderhead rolls through that water can evaporate well before it reaches you at the bottom.
The base is about the same elevation as Phoenix at 2000 ft. while the rims are at 7000 ft.
over 7,000 cubic meters of water per second flows by you at the bottom of the gorge.
The oldest rocks are dated to be some 1.6 to 1.8 billion years old, while the youngest are only 270 million years old, these rocks form 18 different layers of rocks that some say are like looking back in time.
John Wesley Powell once rafted along the course of the Colorado river wondering what he might find along its course in 1869 he now has his name emblazoned on a reservoir that didn't exist when he was fighting the rapids.
On a nice summer day in 1956 a Lockheed Super-Constellation collided with a DC-7 all 128 passengers were not so lucky. However, this lead to the institution of High altitude radar and Positive Control for ground controllers. So now we are all (at least in the USA) safer when flying because of it.

This looks like a fantastic spot to build an International airport. I can already picture an A380 landing here:

Chełm, Poland - Unique in Europe underground chalk passages (up to 20m below the ground), about 2km long that are available for visitors. "The labyrinth" has over 100km in length under whole city, and even two decades ago most of the old town residents had their own entries to the tunnels (unofficial, dug from their cellars, as a cool storage place). It's probably the only city in Poland with no skyscrapers due to fact that those tunnels would collapse if something is higher than 4 floors - weak chalk base (2 exceptions: hospital: 8 floors, and a hotel: 7 floors).
