Can not always configure manaul gearshift.

I do not know if I am doing something wrong or it is just the game that sometimes have a strange behavior.
My wheel is Logitech 920 with the manual gearshift. And I am also using the Saitek Sidepanel ( You know the one to Farming Simulator)
I can easily choose the H-sifter and then range. ( range is the same as Double H as it is in a Iveco Eurotrekker from the 90ties) and at last choose clutch to shift with. when I have done that and I want to drive with manual gear, the game will not always let me do that. I do not know why. When I am trying to choose split or choose Volvo/ Scania 12+2 it is hopeless. I have never ever succeeded when I have chosed that possibilty.
So do you have a soltution so I can succeed every time also when I am choosing Volvo/ Scania 12+2 or do you have the same problems as I
