So, with the newest updates of Ets and Promods, it's time for some kudo's...

Well, i'll start, where it all startet actually. About 9 years ago, i did order a decent PC for that time. An Acer with Intel i5 processor and 4GB RAM.
But the seller did contact me, and gave me a excuse, that the item has been sold out, and if i do not mind, their will send me the new configuration, they have on stock, with a bit better spec's, with no additional cost.
Of course, i don't mind... :-)

And that's, how i had a box delivered with the Acer PC, and for surprise, onboard was the new i7-2600 @ 3,40gHz and 4 GB RAM.

Not long later i was just walking around toy shops searching presents for the children. In one of those big boxes near the checkout, there i saw a DVD with ETS2 on sale. I did not know, what it is all about, but it did have my interest, so i bought it.

And there it started. As my father and my uncle both were truck/bus drivers, i had the affinity in the blood. After all that Need4Speed and F1 GrandPrix, i was happy with something new and especially, something more chill, less adrenaline.

So i started to play ETS2.

Not much longer it took, until i complete the setup with a Microsoft Sidewinder steering wheel. That changed a lot. The game got more realistic.

Thru the time, i saw the game growing with Going East and i found Promods on the internet. The addiction has begon.

The money spending too, but not that much, that you would think.

As i allways watch the prices and buy things on the right moments, most of the expansions are bought decently cheap.

About 3 years ago i got the oportunity to take 6x 24" HP monitors with me on my work. All were dead. 3 of them with dead screen, 3 of them with dead power supply board. Can you feel it? Yes, i screwed them all open and build 3 working monitors.

That needed to be powererd by some graphics, so recently i bought a MSI nVidia 1070Ti card.

Increased the RAM to 16GB and found a second hand 3 weeks old SSD drive.

Then i found a affordable Thrustmaster T500RS steering wheel and this Saitek controller for FarmSim.

This added even more reality and comfort.
Also my unused tablet found it's job as a monitor for the SDK Telemetry.

But! This rig started to have issues. The well known issues. Framerate. Going to Barcelona was not done, getting around 12 FPS...

I was allready thinking, well, this is it. The time has come, when i must say good bye to my old friend Acer and upgrade the mainboard/processor.

Until the new updates last weeks.

Suddenly, with the new versions, i can drive everywhere again!

In some parts of Germany i've seen the FPS counter hitting the 100, in big cities, like Berlin not going under the 30. So thats nice. I can save money longer for a final upgrade. (Well, final, final... those upgrades are never final.)'
There is seriously lot of work done on optimizing this time...

So i wan't to say a big thank you to all the developpers for almost 7 years of big fun.

The SCS guys for making the game, Promods and Aldimator for the maps, Jazzycat for the cars, RJL, JohnLee aka Hellboy for the trucks and so on.

What started as a "let's try it" became a possession with almost 2000 hours of driving fun. All because of all the people, who make it possible, a lot of them for free.

Keep calm
Love the Devs!

So this Ets2 + Promods porn movie continues.

Last week i had the so called "13th month sallary" payed out from my work. Next to it, i knew, i have a big amount of "educational purposes budget" still not spend.
So i decided to take this privilege and did a little :D upgrade to my trucking rig.

All accesoires and monitors stay the same, the PC has made place for something new.

I have build a new one, using:

MSI MPG z390 Gaming Pro Carbon motherboard
Intel i7-9700k processor
BeQuiet! Dark Rock4 cooler
BeQuiet! Dark P.Pro P11 750W power supply
Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB RAM
AData SX8200 Pro 512 GB Pci-e M.2 SSD
MSI GTX 1070 Ti Gaming 8G graphic card.

I also pulled the MSI GTX 1070 Armor 8G graphic card out of the older PC and linked it together with the new one with SLi HB bridge.

This rig is now really great!

Worsest FPS i have seen on this triple screen setup is 48, near Kiel in Germany. Going thru the older part of the Netherlands i have seen up to 130 FPS. That all with the most settings in graphic on High, except the mirrors, i keep them on middle, as they are real FPS killers...

This game really changed my way of thinking about hardware. Before that i was not that demanding. But it really is worth it, the feel behind the wheel is getting very close to reality.
And again! It's because the dev's. Their engagement, their time, their brains, their skill's.

Thank you, guys, for making it possible to live my childhood dreams... ;)
