Don't think that there is already a topic about this. There are probably more people here who have a nice collection of them. Just wanted to share mine ;)

Some of the trains:

Collection of Dutch, German (local and national) and Austrian trains:

Our small ICE collection: ICE1, ICE2 and ICE3

Some locomotives like German regional service Metronom and Siemens dispoloks (rentals). Two engines on the left are from America and Australia

Picture of the track with some wagons and the br101. Also a picture of the raillion br189.

Another one of my prides: The München-Nünrberg-Express. Basically they gave the tipical white IC trains a different color and called the RE (Regional Express) so you can travel at a comfy 200km/h on the regional tarifs. Pulled by the br101.

My rarest and probably most valuable piece. In total 500 of these were produced by Fleischmann and I got two of them at home. No idea how much they are worth but got them for free

Maintaince! You may notice the DCC decoders. All engines on the tracks run on ESU decoders and controlled by the ROCO multimaus DCC system.

Now let's take a look at the track and the complete system behind it.

The trains are controlled by the ROCO Multimaus DCC system. This has a AC current on the tracks eventhough all the trains we buy are DC. The decoder in the trains make sure they can work. Almost all of the decoders are from ESU, simply because they work the best.

The switches on the track are not DCC controlled. I made a mixed system with ROCO and Fleischmann items and some welding.

Pictures of our system:

Multimaus and the switch control panel:

Switch control panel. Also lights are controlled from here same as switching DC and AC current (analog system also works on the tracks).

Underneath the switch control panel:

Results in this under the table itself. Almost all wires here are for controlling the switches. Some of them are powering the tracks at the turntable because we had to take some measures to implement the Fleischmann system (it was a pain in the ass to get it fully working!)
Image

Another side of the table. Here also cables for lights etc. The orange box contains a blinking element to simulate car blinkers in the future.

And here a picture of the full layout a while ago when I was fixing some of the switches and lights:

Last but not least: Some images of the various models etc we have around mainly in boxes :P

Now in Nürnberg so sadly can't make a video.

My granddad passed away a few months ago so we are now busy trying to get all of his stuff sorted. A collection we estimate having 1000-3000 pieces with some valuables as well (e.g.: http://www.ebay.it/itm/Rivarossi-3527-P ... 0964677579)

Here are pics of the collection we got from the basement. Upstairs is at least this amount again in boxes and paper:

True, I now did about 62 items and estimated a worth of €2500 of some of the items.

We will possibly try to sell it all one day, one hell of a huge task.
