I'm medically retired from the trucking game, I still have all my licenses and am legal to drive multi-combination anywhere in Oz but only drive occasionally for friends these days.

Hehe my wife says she wants to kill me because I'm not out driving!!

60-70 hours a week driving for someone else or 90+ hours a week driving for myself I can see why she would be happy for me to be in a truck :)

I do love the open roads and especially the open roads at night. I'd much rather deal with wildlife running from the sides of the road than lunatic humans running around cities. The only problem with the long haul is that you have to like yourself and spending time with yourself or disagreements can happen. I've had some terrific arguments with myself in the wee hours of the morning, usually they arise because of my wonderful singing. But many years of long hauls haven't effected me in any way. :)

Well, aside from self-arguments, there's also the issue of having to smell yourself for hours on end...

...and if you've been silly enough to eat a load of gassy food, God help you!
