I tried to play EST2 for my YouTube profile, which I've invested over a hundred hours into, only for the game to boot me out of the profile as soon as the loading screen had reached 100%.
As soon as I figured out what the cause was I unchecked the auto download option on Steam and rolled back my PC to an earlier restore point. This got the 1.9 beta update off my PC.
Sadly this was not the end of my problems. Now when I load my profile everything works and the profile loads but the mouse pointer sits in the top left corner and won't react to input from the mouse!
To say I'm pissed off is an understatement.
You don't have to do that... just leave the public beta chanel and steam will go back to the stable version automatically. Aditionally I set it to not update the game for now since I want to continue with the upcoming promods rather then fall back in the bland default map.

Hey I am having the same problem. How did you resolve this? It is extremely frustrating.

If you are running the Steam beta auto-download version of ETS2 (which the last time I checked was 1.9.3), and you want to use an older version with your saved games and profiles, just run the SCS copy of the game (from the Euro Truck Simulator 2 folder in Program Files). Steam runs its own version of ETS2 from its installation in Program Files, but both use profiles etc. from your Documents folder. If (like me) you've been running 1.8.2.5 from Steam, just make sure that the SCS version is the same (update if necessary).
So you can simply switch between them. It's best to create a new profile for testing the Steam updates, then install any other (non map) mods to check compatibility.

Thanks for the help everyone. Unfortunately I checked the mouse code in the controls sii and they all read di8 and not fusion.
The mouse still refuses to work.
I guess I have to wait for the ProMods update.

I changed the mouse code to di8 in the controls.sii and I deleted the global_controls.sii.
I now have my mouse working all right ;o)
