Okay, it would be very nice to have a direct connection from there to the BeNeLux area ^^

It's probably very cramped in there, but it would save having to detour through either Koln or going up to Arnhem.

I agree! That small stretch is really needed. You can feel the lack of it, especially when planning a route from northern germany to Eindhoven, Antwerpen, Calais...

But looking at the map, I guess first you would have to completely rebuild Duisburg to be able to build it. Probably that's why it's missing.

It is very cramped there. Here are a few design questions we have to face:
  • How are we going around Duisburg? The current scenery takes up a lot of space, which brings us to...
  • Should we rebuild Duisburg completely? We might want to use our mappers elsewhere instead.
  • How to connect the BAB40 to Duisburg? Is there enough room for the proper interchanges?
  • And finally: how to connect the BAB40 to the BAB3. I am afraid Kreuz Kaiserberg will not fit in any way.
So as you see, it's not just building a road. It's a complex design problem...

I might get slammed for this....but why not just remove Duisburg altogether? Then there might be enough room to place a proper interchange for BAB40 and BAB3.

Or what about placing Duisberg just south of the BAB40. Just looking at google maps isn't the majority of the city south of the BAB40 anyway? Make a condensed version of Duiberg giving that the area is congested enough as it is.

Unfortunate that you would have to rebuild Duisberg because that would be taking away from something else getting built in the ARP. But personally I would like to see the A67 connected to Germany.

My suggestion for whole Ruhr is to build like one big city, megalopolis (this is true, the name is Rhine-Ruhr, 13.5 milion populaton), which would include more ETS cities.
I haven't more knowledge of Ruhr, so I can't suggest more.

We first add the missing roads in Germant and rebuild stuff. After that Ruhr will probably be upgraded again with city rebuilds. This gives possibility to make the A67 connection. Count on long-term, we have other priorities in this area first.

So 2.1 is finally released, time for some new developments! This week I continued on a pretty new German autobahn that connects west and east ;)
Maybe someone recognizes that city? :P Yes it's not easy because it's not a very special city, it's just along the Autobahn. But with some logic you could solve the puzzle.

I guess its A38 from Göttingen to Leipzig. And there is only one rest-stop with an Mc-Donalds so this could be Sangerhausen ? :?:
And do you have already plans for the A61 ?
Feel free to add :)
