Are you guys really only letting the non-paying downloaders download at 70 kb/s?
I understand you want people to donate to help fund your projects but really is this the way to do it?
You guys really only letting....

Now after 2.11 has been released there are around 250 people online all the time, that means the server load is approximately 5-10 times higher than normal. That's why it's slow.
It's definitely not intended, the paid download is just another option. And we have to pay a part of the $1 to the download service provider anyway

Why would you not want to pay $1 to get full speed, and support the makers?
There's a few reasons why.
1: I don't trust websites that aren't owned by a well known company.
2: It's not always an option for everyone
3: Why when I can get it for free?
4: I've spent enough of my money on things like this just for it to disappear later down the road. (examples, Private WoW servers, Private Arma 2 / 3 servers and so on)
5: Sort of goes with 1 really, I'm not putting my card details in a privately run server/website.
6: I don't have a PayPal account and have no interest in having 1.
Now with all that being said, and as I said before I know they have over heads but throttling download speeds like that doesn't seem like the moral way of gaining that extra buck.

That of course would play a big part in it, I hope that's all that's causing the slow speeds lol. I don't mean to sound ungrateful because you guys do do (lol doo doo) a great job.
Just for fun I did a speedtest while downloading the mod. Wasn't sure where your server would be based so picked Germany.
70 kb/s?
You must have run into a really bad stretch of luck on the downloads.
17hours ago the download was as fast as my line could handle.
All files in 2-10 minutes, probably less than 5.
Private WoW, ARMA servers etc? Not quite comparable to this.

Well, if you pay for it, you'll get it and keep it on your HDD as long as you want. It won't disappear like private server
I'm able to download all parts from zippy in ~5 minutes, always. It's a really great hosting site.
Probably the same server as you tested. My connection is slower than yours.
