I really don't get the point of making Barcelona a extremely laggy location
This game is not "Slideshow Simulator"
Framedrop and lags since 1.9x

I had fps problems in the past and everything was solved when I starter playing the game in DirectX 64bit. it seems that in 64bit the GPU allocates more RAM (or something similar )
Also I noticed that overall the game works better in Windows 10 than in Windows 7

Yes, 64 bit version lets the game use more RAM and more VRAM so performance is better but that doesn't always solve fps issues

Isn't the issue due to the render distance being set to high in the map editor so there's no pop in? Perhaps for some of us people with toasters there could be an option where we deal with pop in so we can cope with the lag?

Reduce your graphics settings
ProMods uses a more open landscape and more roads to give a better experience this comes with a price tag
Min specs for ProMods is at least ETS2 recommended specs
PU: Quad core CPU 3.0 GHz
CPU Speed: 3.0 GHz
RAM: 6 GB
OS: Windows 7 64-bit
Video Card: GeForce GTX 760-class (2 GB)
The map runs decent on a i5 Skylake / HD 7970

I'm running a late 2013 Imac; and being a Noob i've only been to barcelona twice and Bilbao once, I wont be going back to either as its unplayable even with graphics settings that make it look like look like Frogger or ETS1 (Lowest ETS presets), Poland is fine, its just Spain, I'ts too 'busy' unless you're running a VIBOX...
I thank ALL of the devs here for the frankly stunning stuff they've done but the young guy who did Barcelona and the team or person who did the 'other spain' needed to un-assume everyone has £5K to spend on a PC...

I am thinking the same thing. My computer is a Dell that I bought in 2014 and the specs are: Core I7, 8 GB Ram, NVIDIA 850M. I have reduced the graphics quality to high and have it run on GL and DirectX both 64 bit and there is still lag in Barcelona and Bilbao. Although there is some improvement when running 64 bit there is still substantial lag in and around these cities. My question, therefore, is if there is a work in progress to solve this issue in the upcoming update?

I am no way a modder but would the amount of companies be a factor for the lag in Barcelona and Bilbao?
