Haha yes, THAT section.
You're fully correct.
In any case, truck drivers must pay attention to the typical signs because the speed limit changes when the road stops (or begins) being a priority road (80 to 60kph and conversely).

Hey , everyone!

That's a great topic

In France , truck speed is about their cargo types and weight being hauled

Highway : 90 Km/h for single and double trailer
Secondary roads : 80 km/h for single and double trailer
Other roads: 60 Km/h for single and double trailer
In cities : 50 Km/ for single and double trailer except Paris's outer ring maximum speed is 70 km/h

Hazardous cargo such gasoline...

Highway: 80 Km/h with or without ABS
Secondary roads: 70 Km/h with ABS system and 60 km/h without ABS system
Other roads: 60 km/h
Cities and Paris's outer Ring : 50 km/h and 70 km/h
Ooh I love when things become complicated. I must ask two things though; what is ABS? And what do you mean by other road? I'm reffering to Motorway as an Autoroute, Expressway as a route nationale, secondary road as a departmental road, and other roads as in-numbered roads. Is that what you mean?
As Jesan said , it's bit complicated french roads , as priority road with white/yellow road in shape of diamond , speed limit will be shown before as you get in that road , if it's straight one and out of city it can be upto 70 Km/h and ABS is anti blocking system :).

Bonne route! :)

[SNIP]... ABS is anti blocking system :).

Bonne route! :)
Is that different than ABS being Antilock Braking System in the US and Canada?

Well, in EU it does mean Anti-lock (or anti-skid) braking system too.

But the ABS he's talking about, may well be something else of course.

It's the Belgians, the Spanish and the Polish that have the most complex too.

SWEDEN (S)

Secondary roads : over 3,5 t - 80 km/h
Expressways : over 3,5 t - 80 km/h
Motorways : over 3,5 t - 80 km/h
Incorrect, speed limit for trucks over 3,5 t on expressways and motorways in Sweden is 90 km/h. On ordinary roads however, it's 80 km/h.

Image FINLAND (FIN)
  • Urban areas (as indicated by a city limits sign): 50 km/h
  • Secondary roads: 60 km/h
  • Expressways: 80 km/h
  • Motorways: 80 km/h
AFAIK in Finland trucks have the same limits as cars except that the maximum is 80km/h. So on secondary roads it should be 80km/h.
So in all of its simplicity:

Urban areas = 50km/h
outside urban areas = 80km/h

Thanks! I thought 60 was a bit too low looking back at it...
