Thanks a lot!!!
Heartland journeys
Third trip in the south of the UK, this time with some inclement weather, as befits
early November...
Driving from London to Cardiff and Swansea, and then down to Southampton.
British motorways in the autumn.
Scaled the bridge for a better view of the Iron Age Hill Factory.
When this finally gets delivered I'm going to send my cyborg down it to hack someone's office computer via an increasingly monotonous and irritating minigame.
Seagull's eye view
Nightfall in Cardiff.
The weather underwent quite a transformation overnight.
Pulling this heavy load wasn't too tricky even with the unsuitable tractor.
Clearing up a bit as we approach Swansea.
Portaloos!
Wakey wakey... toooot!!!
That tower block's producing a lot of light pollution.
The soggy journey to Southampton begins.
Feel like a big wet frog. Where's a princess?
Southampton at last....
Cheers!

One last glorious bit of "early autumn" sunshine on my 4th journey out of 5 in the southern UK: Southampton to Plymouth and then up to Cambridge.
Can there really only be two skyboxes in the game, sunny and rainy? Certainly seems that way...
So bright... won't last.
A rare but very welcome glimpse of the sea on the way to Plymouth.
S' a fair cop, guv.
Can't beat a good stretch of roadworks... in-game, anyway.
Looks like a bit of custom modern architecture there... Plymouth.
I could hardly contain my excitement.
Next day, off to Cambridge. The early morning sun still has a bit of power.
Big intersection.
Last splashes of autumn colour.
Cambridge. Brother lives there. Maybe I'll pop in and see him.
That's it for today... cheers!

I AM waiting...
Last thing I read he'd put 300 skyboxes into it and was still going... I'd settle for fewer and a functioning awesome weather mod released now to be honest, but "beggars can't be choosers" as they say, and I know what it's like dealing with artistic obsession...
One more set from the south of the UK. Using Grimes' late autumn mod and also his Grey Skies mod.
From Cambridge via Felixstowe and Harwich to Chelmsford.
Up early in Cambridge.
Anakin and Luke.
In Flanders' fields the poppies grow... don't know why, just makes me think of WWI for some reason.
I like the combination of grey skies and late autumn...
Wha...what happened? The skies cleared momentarily.
That's better. Felixstowe is delightfully grim with these mods. Probably not unlike real life.
?? What could this be? Should have 0 F9ed my way over there and driven up the hill... though we might have fallen through the graphics, I suppose, and that would end our trip real quick, wouldn't it.
That hopper must be a local heraldic symbol or something... the Hopper of Felixstowe....There it is again.
Sun came out once more, and stayed out this time.
Briefly ducked into Harwich to take down some train numbers.
Chelmsford, birthplace of radio!
Spent some time in the local transport company office, looking out of the window while waiting for someone to interrogate me about why most of my deliveries end in cancellation and a 12000 Euro fine.
Farewell to the UK for now, or should I say Au revoir?
That's right... off to NE France next.
Cheers

Back again, and this time in North-east France for the fourth stage of this 12 part tour.
Time: Late November.
This time, travelling from Paris to Metz via Riems.
Thor was present to bless our first foray on French soil outside the local IKEA.
I think the light from French lightning must be slow, because everything was lit up yet the lightning bolt itself had already gone.
Look Mum, a grove of huge Functionalist concrete tulips!
Fast trains...
...and toll roads... must be France.
Sorry guys, want to watch the TGV go by. There is a 2nd lane, though...try it, you might like it.
Obligatory sunset + pylons picture.
Only shot from Riems, I wonder why? Was it dull? Will have to visit again.
Henry Ford's approach to sunrise and sunset - any colour you want, as long as its blue. A beautiful blue, though.
Loved these dilapidated quarry buildings. They look like they are trying to blend in with the background to avoid the attention of some shed-gobbling predator.
Quarry surroundings - a pleasant wooded valley.
Needs some crows and a gallows and Geralt.
The pogo stick craze never really went away in France.
One of those famous strange roundabouts they have in France.
Beautifully modelled scenery in Metz!
Time for my trusty Magnum to have a rest for now...
Cheers

Beautiful Magnum!
and, of course pics!
and, of course pics!
Thanks very much!! I remember when I saw my first Magnum in the early 90s. No other truck looked in any way modern at that time - it was a daring and cool design, still like it now, though newer trucks look a bit classier.

Part 2 of 5 in NW France... Metz to Paris
Setting off from the great little town of Metz.
Feel the powah!
Charming village with a river and towpath complete with picnic table... bit chilly for that now, though.
Aqueduct! Not sure if this route is available to people without the France DLC. It's
in the original map area though. Maybe it's from Promods but I don't think so.
Ooooo.... mystical. Messing around in photoshop made the stone floor look
like rusty iron, don't know how... but I like it : )
After leaving the village it grew dark, so I stopped at a petrol station to rest. The parking place wouldn't let
me sleep till I disconnected the trailer. In the morning I woke up dull and early and started driving again...
Okay, who can tell me what's gone wrong?
Tried to rectify the situation by turning back. Couldn't be bothered to do a 3 point turn and
went into the muddy field. Thought I could get back onto the road. Turns out I was wrong. Grush! We're stuck!
One teleport later and we're on our merry way once more.
More French village architecture.
Country roads.
Maisonbateau?
Nice!
Oh no! Clipped one!
Cool part of Paris.
That's all for now, have a good one...
